The St. Ignatius Varsity Wildcats were triumphant over Woodside 6-2 on Monday 3/3.
The 'Cats were the first to get on the board in the first when
Gianna Galarza singled, scoring two runs.
Woodside tied the game in the top of the third.
St. Ignatius took the lead in the bottom of the third. An error scored one run, to give the 'Cats the leg up, 3-2.
Cassidy Chew earned the win for St. Ignatius. The pitcher gave up seven hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none.
Galarza drove the middle of the lineup, leading St. Ignatius with three runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day.
Delilah Berry, Galarza, and Julie Galarza each collected two hits for the Wildcats.
