Umali Named WCAL Outstanding Player of the Year; Sets SI and League Records

Junior Stevie Umali was named the WCAL Outstanding Player of the Year for women's golf following a standout performance at the WCAL Championship Tournament on Monday, October 27.
Since the league began tracking scoring differential (a metric combining a player's scores and the difficulty rating of the courses), Stevie is just the second player in WCAL history to record a negative differential.
At the championship, she set both an SI record and a new WCAL Women's Championship Tournament record with a remarkable 5-under-par 67.
Next up, Umali and the Wildcats will compete at the CCS Championships on Tuesday, November 4, at Laguna Seca Golf Course in Monterey, where 16 teams will battle for a berth to the NorCal Championships.
