John Mulkerrins, SI Class of 1989, returns for his 24th year in the St. Ignatius Athletic Program. He is San Francisco native and attended St. Cecilia, St. Ignatius, and San Francisco State University, earning a degree in Liberal Studies with a Masters in Education. While at SI, John played soccer for 4 years under head coach Rob Hickox. John also coached the Men's Freshman and JV Soccer Teams at St. Ignatius from 1990 - 1995 and started the JV Softball Program in 1992 and eventually was named the Head Softball Coach from 1996, holding that position until 2003. In 1999, John was hired by St. Ignatius as the Associate Athletic Director and took over the Athletic Director Position in 2011. Prior to St. Ignatius, John was a junior high math teacher at Holy Name, a PE Teacher at St. Cecilia and a CYO Athletic Director at St. Cecilia and Holy Name. John was inducted into the CYO Hall of Fame in 2012 recognizing his outstanding service and leadership in the Catholic Youth Organization as both a coach and athletic administrator.
