Bio:
Coach Jessica Ruth has been a vital part of the tennis program at SI since 2018, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for the game. Prior to her role at SI, she honed her coaching skills at Scotts Valley High School and UC Santa Cruz, as well as at the California Tennis Club, where she fostered both competitive spirit and personal growth among her players. A standout collegiate athlete, Jessica played at UC Irvine and UC Santa Cruz, earning All-American honors and being named the Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 2008.
Her competitive background informs her coaching philosophy, which centers on developing the "whole player." Jessica believes in nurturing not just athletic skills, but also the mental and emotional aspects of the game. Under her guidance, players thrive in a supportive community that emphasizes teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Jessica is dedicated to creating an environment where each athlete can achieve their personal best, both on and off the court. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on holistic development, Coach Ruth continues to inspire the next generation of tennis players.
