Bio:
Coach Dan (St. Ignatius '02) has been coaching since the Spring of 2008. From 2008 to 2014 he was the Freshman coach at SI. There he coached teems to Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal performances at the State Championships. In Fall of 2014 he took over as Head Varsity Coach. From then until Spring of 2019 his crews had great showings including a silver medal at Scholastic Nationals in 2017, and 5 gold medals at the West Coast Scholastic Championships. After Covid, he returned to coaching with a brief stint at Serra High School that included one gold medal Freshman crew at the 2022 West Coast Scholastic Championships and two trips to Scholastic Nationals. In Fall of 2023 he returned as the Head Varsity Coach at SI and his crews won several medals at the 2024 West Coast Scholastic Championships, as well as a national title at SRAA National Championship.
As an SI student, Dan won several awards as a Water Polo goalie (Most Inspirational -'99, Most Improved -'00, Coaches Award -'01) as well as two bronze medals at State Championships for rowing. At UC Berkeley, Dan won two Pac-10 titles ('03, '06), a silver at the IRA Nationals ('03), and the team National Championship ('06). He was also the Vice President of SAAC and the delegate to the Pac-10 Conference ('05-06).
