Varsity baseball was victorious against the Menlo-Atherton Bears 6-2 on Wednesday.
The Bears opened the scoring in the first after a double, scored two runs.
Archer Horn hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the first for the Wildcats.
St. Ignatius jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after
Jack Callen laid down a sacrifice bunt, and
Atticus Gibson singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Beau Schaffer earned the win for the Wildcats. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.
Tycco Giometti stepped on the hill first for St. Ignatius. The hurler surrendered three hits and two runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.
Eddie McCartney threw one inning of zero-run ball for the Wildcats in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
AJ Wineinger provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led St. Ignatius with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Leadoff hitter, Horn, led the Wildcats with two hits in two at bats. The Wildcats didn't commit a single error in the field.
